Level 2*: Advanced Technique - Sunday 2 May to Thursday 6 May 2027
(*Level 2 eligibility: Swimmers must have previously attended a SwimMastery Camp/Clinic or worked with a SwimMastery Coach)
Master your stroke in Loreto Bay National Marine Park with ideal swimming conditions, pristine waters and abundant wildlife
Level 1 – Foundational Technique
Sunday 25 April – Friday 30 April 2027
This camp is where SwimMastery begins: learning to feel the water before trying to swim it faster. Over six days in the stunning waters of Loreto, Baja, you'll work on the core movement patterns that underpin efficient, sustainable swimming — balance, rotation, breathing rhythm, and proprioception. You'll break down habitual movement patterns and rebuild technique from the ground up, with video analysis and hands-on coaching providing real-time feedback in and out of the water.
Camps run in small groups, led by SwimMastery founder Tracey Baumann and supported by Senior SwimMastery coaches, ensuring focused, individualised attention throughout.
This level is ideal for swimmers who are new to SwimMastery, want to reset technique fundamentals, or are preparing for longer open water challenges and want a strong technical base to build from.
Level 2 – Advanced Technique with Metrics
Sunday 2 May – Thursday 6 May 2027
(Eligibility: swimmers must have previously attended a SwimMastery camp or clinic)
Level 2 takes the foundational work from Level 1 and layers in data driven refinement. Using underwater video analysis, stroke count tracking, and performance metrics, we'll help you understand exactly what's happening in your stroke and how small technical adjustments translate into real efficiency gains. We go deeper into catch and kick mechanics, along with advanced stroke synchronisations, refining the finer details that separate solid technique from truly efficient swimming. This camp is for swimmers who already have the foundational movement patterns in place and are ready to fine-tune technique with precision.
Like all SwimMastery camps, Level 2 runs in small groups led by Tracey Baumann and supported by Senior SwimMastery coaches, giving each swimmer close, personalised attention through the video and metrics work.
Expect a mix of in-water coaching, video breakdown sessions, pool sessions and metric based goal setting, and adventure swims exploring the Islands of the Sea of Cortez.
Nestled between the dramatic Sierra de la Giganta mountains and the turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez, Loreto is where your swimming adventure begins. This historic town—the first Spanish settlement in the Californias (1697)—offers the perfect blend of authentic Mexican charm and world-class marine access.

Swimming Technique
We have a wide range of swimmers attend our camps. These include swimmers recovering from injury, new swimmers, triathletes, families and friends, mature age swimmers etc. We tend to swim at an easy to medium pace (and there is an opportunity for faster swimming if you want to).
In this camp we will be swimming as one group in the open water.
We coach the SwimMastery technique. We focus on how the mind and body work together in the water. This technique keeps your joints safe and we learn how to use body mechanics to maximise your swimming potential.
